Steam Weekly Top Sellers: February 6th, 2017

Each week, gamers around the world log onto digital distribution platform Steam, to get their latest gaming fix, and every week, Player Attack lets you know which games were the most popular.

So this is more what we were expecting. The game so scary they named it twice is now terrifying gamers around the world from the top spot on the charts. RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard / BIOHAZARD 7 resident evil (one name is English, one is Japanese) was released in late January and is getting “Very Positive” reviews from the Steam community.

And, if you look closely, you’ll see the game’s actually listed twice on this week’s charts – both at #1 and #2. We do have a simple explanation for this (and it’s not just because the game’s got two names). If you look at the RE7 Steam page, you’ll see two games listed – RE7 and RE7 Deluxe Edition (which includes the season pass). Both of these games have the same Steam App ID (418370), but they are technically different titles. Both versions sold well enough to appear in the best-seller lists and the powers that be don’t seem to like the idea of merging them. Bonus: We don’t know which is which. Ah well.
