Each week, gamers around the world log onto digital distribution platform Steam, to get their latest gaming fix, and every week, Player Attack lets you know which games were the most popular.
Welcome back to Player Attack for 2017! Brand new year, same ol’ #1 on the Steam charts. Seems everybody is still all about the adventures of Michael, Franklin and Trevor, all these months later. Is this when we point out that if you’re still buying GTAV, there’s no incentive for Rockstar to make GTAVI?
Anyway. There is something new that’s popped up on the charts this week. Astroneer describes itself as “A game of aerospace industry and interplanetary exploration”, and it’s in Early Access (technically it’s in a pre-alpha stage). It’s had 90% positive reviews, with most of the negative ones focussing on the fact that – wait for it – it’s unfinished and riddled with bugs and glitches.
Obviously, that’s something to be aware of, but if you’re looking for something new and fresh to start 2017, this one looks like an interesting place to start.
