Pokémon GO’s Nearby feature will be expanding even more, as announced by Niantic earlier today.
Niantic posted this update on their website:
We will be expanding the Nearby Pokémon feature to the rest of the continental United States and large parts of Europe. We will continue to review the feedback submitted on our official social media accounts and in other channels and make changes if necessary.
This feature works via Pokéstops, essentially using them as beacons. The Pokémon in your Nearby module will have a Pokéstop symbol next to them, and if you find the respective Pokéstop, you’ll be closer to the Pokémon.
Many have complained about this feature. Undoubtedly, the best tracking system by Niantic so far has been the original paw print system, but they scrapped that due to unreliability, so they really just can’t seem to win here.
