Don’t expect another Battlefield to release for at the very least a year, as confirmed by EA CFO Blake Jorgensen.
Jorgensen said at the NASDAQ 35th Investor Program Conference (Via Dualshockers):
“We won’t have another Battlefield back for a couple of years, next year we’ll have Battlefront, the Star Wars game.”
Then, moving onto Battlefront, he confirmed the 14 million unit sales number, adding that he is happy with that number, especially for the first title of the franchise. He then went on to respond to the criticism, which was essentially just that players wanted more:
“We’re taking that criticism to heart as we’re building the next game, and we’re trying to address any of the issue that it had”
He went on to confirm that the next title will have content from the new movies, promising:
“There seems to be no waning in excitement around the Star Wars world. We’ve got another movie coming up obviously in a few weeks, and people are very excited about it. So we’re looking forward to bringing to the table next year a much bigger, much more exciting Battlefront for consumers.”
He is, of course, referring to Rogue One, which debuts this in about a month. Due to the film taking part before even the original series, it works with the timeline that there could be some Rogue One in Battlefront II.
