Bioware is hard at work preparing for the highly anticipated launch of Mass Effect: Andromeda, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t also looking towards the future. They have a new IP in the works, but not much has yet been said. However, we do have a little more information now.
Game Informer sat down with Bioware manager Aaryn Flynn for their latest issue and, in the interview, discussed the upcoming IP from Bioware. He said that development was going well, but that they didn’t want to say much too early.
“We’re not going to talk about it until we’re confident about what it’s going to be and everything.”
“We’ve been doing reviews with [EA CEO Andrew Wilson], and I think he likes it. So, knock on wood, we’ll keep working on it and we’ll keep doing it. Hopefully you’ll hear more about that once Andromeda’s done and we’ve satisfied fans with that game.”
One thing that Flynn did say, however, was that the game would be story-driven. The last IP that Bioware launched wasn’t story-driven and flopped, so they have learned from that mistake.
“You have to ask yourself, ‘Do you want to do something that [is] fiercely different or do you want to do something that’s very recognizable?’”
