Riding the hype of the Mass Effect: Andromeda cinematic reveal trailer, Mass Effect 2 and 3 are now backwards compatible on Xbox One.
Players who own the Xbox 360 disc can insert the disc into their Xbox One, and the game will install. You will need the disc to play. If you own it digitally, you can get it for free from the Xbox Store.
You also only need the first disc of each game to play the entire game. It acts like a key, rather than the actual game data.
So, if you’re a fan of Mass Effect, you should grab these and do a play through at some point before the Spring 2017 release of Mass Effect: Andromeda, the next game in the series.
