Michael Giacchino to score Spider-Man: Homecoming

Michael Giacchino, who recently scored Doctor Strange and Rogue One, will be headed to another amazing Marvel spectacular, Spider-Man Homecoming.

The composer announced the news via a Tweet, and I’m crazy excited.

I mean sure, Spider-Man is my favorite superhero and has been since I was but a wee little lad, but as a musician, I’m being entirely objective that, even if the film ends up sucking (we all know it won’t), the music will be amazing.

Spider-Man: Homecoming comes out July 7, 2017, and will be set in the normal Spider-Man theme, a high schooler in New York. Directed by Jon Watts, the movie stars Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May.

Director Jon Watts has said that the movie is really going to go deeper into the high school aspect of Peter Parker, making the film a “coming of age” story.
