Peyton Reed, director of the Ant-Man, is disappointed about Giant-Man’s debut in Captain America: Civil War, but says that things will move on in a great way for Scott Lang, Ant-Man.
Peyton Reed is also directing the next installment on the Ant-Man side of the MCU, Ant-Man and the Wasp. In a recent interview with Moviefone, he revealed a few feelings about Scott Lang/Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War.
When asked about sharing characters with other corners of the MCU, he described it as a mixed bag, saying:
When I first found out — gosh, I don’t know, two years ago, a year-and-a-half ago — that “Civil War” was going to get the Giant-Man premiere, I was like “No!” But, now, I’ve since recovered, and we have a lot more in store for Scott Lang in this movie.
Certainly, it must be extremely worrying to see a character you have invested so much time in go to someone else who could potentially tear down all your future plans, but that’s the plight of the MCU, I guess. Just think about how Stan Lee must feel.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is slated for a July 2018 debut.
