Skyrim: Special Edition doesn’t launch until Friday, but it’s already accepting mods. Furthermore, there’s 6 times more mods coming to Xbox One than on PS4.
What this means for PS4 players is that the mods coming to your game are performance related, with perhaps some slight tweaks.
Xbox One players, on the other hand, will get to add crazy user-created models and enjoy mods like stickmen bandits with Thomas the Tank Engine characters for heads.
I don’t foresee this being a very big problem with the game’s release, as I think many players will wanted to replay the game without any major mods, aside from maybe some related to performance. However, the Xbox One user base will probably stay much more active long after hype for the game has died down, while I expect that the PS4 fan base will die down somewhat.
Only time will tell, but Skyrim: Special Edition launches this Friday for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
