The Gears of War 4 devs have seen that acquiring packs has been somewhat more difficult than they thought, so they’ve decided to make it a bit easier.
In a blog post, the community team account posted:
The goal of these new changes is to provide a more consistent reward per match for our players, and bring the time required to earn Gear Packs – including the customization focused Elite Pack – closer to our expectations.
The following changes have been made to Credits and Gear Packs:
- Elite Pack Credit cost has been reduced from 4000 to 3500
- Match Completion bonus credits in Versus Multiplayer have now been increased
Match Bonuses are provided whether you win or lose, though winning will yield higher XP and Credit returns. This should provide a higher and more consistent Credit earn rate across our modes, with the levelling milestone drops of 500 Credits and Credit bounties also helping you on your road to your next pack.
The team also addressed a bug that they can confirm has been seen and that they are working on:
There is now a known bug that may display you earned 0 Credits from your Match Bonus, If you see this, you still earned your Match Bonus credits and XP. You should see your true gain reflected in your Credit Wallet in the main menu. We are fixing this bug in a future title update.
So if you’ve been having trouble getting those packs, it should be a little easier now.
