Microsoft has released that all games made by them that will be released during the timeframe of the Scorpio project will run at Native 4K resolution.
The news comes from an interview conducted by USA Today with Microsoft Publishing General Manager Shannon Loftis.
Loftis says in the interview that Microsoft is looking heavily into what they can do with Virtual Reality in tandem with their Project Scorpio, which is set for release sometime in the Holiday season of 2017.
Project Scorpio is supposedly the “end of console generations,” according to Microsoft. It is unclear at this time what exactly to expect from the console, as it would be awfully late to release a PS4 Pro competitor.
Loftis did say in the interview, regarding 4K and Project Scorpio:
Any games we’re making that we’re launching in the Scorpio time frame, we’re making sure they can natively render at 4K.
With this shift going to 4K, seems like I’ll be having to drop some money on another TV.
