Hideo Kojima has revealed some interesting new details about his first game since leaving Konami, Death Stranding, at Tokyo Game Show 2016.
He didn’t reveal much on the story, other than the meaning of the title, saying that it was inspired by dolphins and whales that get stranded on beaches:
“The title is about something from another world stranded on our world.”
He stated that the game would be open-world, stressing player freedom, and added that the game would include coop.
He also announced that he had finally decided on which engine he wanted the game to be built on, so now his production team could get started, adding that the game would accommodate both 4K and HDR.
“We want to prove that indie studios can produce AAA world class masterpieces.”
It will be both exciting and sad to see this game’s release. While the game will certainly be amazing, I have no doubt about that, it truly does mark the end of Kojima as the helm of Metal Gear Solid, games that have mattered greatly to many people. However, the world must progress on.
