Ubisoft confirms long-rumoured Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection

In today’s instalment of “Things we already knew about,” Ubisoft has – finally – confirmed that Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection is real, it’s headed to PS4 and Xbox One, and it’s headed there pretty soon. You’ll be able to relive the adventures of Ezio Auditore da Firenze on an all-new console in just a couple of months.

The announcement coincides with the news that Assassin’s Creed is one of the most popular game franchises of all time, selling more than 100 million copies of the various games in the series. Ubisoft’s rich narrative, innovative gameplay and historically-accurate open-world environments provides a winning combination for millions of gamers, with the fan following continuing to grow with each game.

…but Assassin’s Creed is more than just games. There are now books, comics and short films based on the Assassin’s Creed franchise – and, of course, a major motion picture hitting cinemas around Christmas time (January 1, 2017 in Australia).

Etienne Allonier, Brand Director for Assassin’s Creed explains:

This is a huge milestone for the Assassin’s Creed franchise, but we believe the best is yet to come. Having seen what’s gone into the movie and into future Assassin’s Creed games, we think fans and newcomers alike will be excited by everything Assassin’s Creed has to offer.

Back to the Ezio Collection, though: The new bundle includes all the single-player campaigns and add-ons for Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed Revelations, with each game polished up and enhanced for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It’s nearly time to relive the Renaissance – or to experience the adventures of Ezio in Florence, Venice, Rome and Constantinople for the first time.

And if that isn’t enough, Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection also includes both Assassin’s Creed Lineage and Assassin’s Creed Embers, two short films that give an extra glimpse into what makes Ezio Auditore da Firenze tick.

Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection is out November 17, for PS4 and Xbox One.
