Xbox One gamers won’t need to climb an observation tower to see indie darling Firewatch – Campo Santo has confirmed the game is headed to the console a little later this month. It launched on PC and PS4 earlier this year, and Xbox One gamers are getting a little somethin’ somethin’ extra, for their patience.
These extras include an Audio Tour, which adds a developer’s commentary to the game so you know what the team at Campo Santo were thinking when they made key decisions. That will be available at launch on September 21, but you’ll have to wait a bit for another bonus inclusion – a free roam mode will be added in a future update, giving you the opportunity to explore the game’s map without restrictions.
If you’re already playing the game on PS4 or PC, don’t worry, these extras will be added to your game as well, a little while after they arrive on Xbox One.
It’s a nice little arrangement that should get a few more people interested in Firewatch – that is, if there’s anyone left who hasn’t already fallen in love with the game. There’s just something soothing about wandering through the Wyoming wilderness, even at the peak of wildfire season…
