Apple has confirmed that they will be holding an event on September 7th at 10 a.m. PT.

The event was announced by Apple and will be livestreamed on their website.

The company generally announces the newest iPhone iterations at their September events, and that is what is expected for this event, seeing as speculation for the iPhone 7 has been all over the place.

One of the biggest speculations is the dual-camera system of which Apple has filed a patent. The use of dual cameras is said to allow the user to zoom while taking pictures, without losing image quality.

The other speculation, which has a lot of people up in arms, is that the iPhone will not feature a traditional 3.5 mm headphone jack. It is not yet known exactly what that means for using headphones, but many believe that they will push for wireless headphones (and especially their Beats by Dre headphones), and possibly will include either EarPods that connect via the lightning port, or a 3.5 mm to lightning adapter to be able to use traditional headphones.

September 7th is also the date of a Sony event where the company is expected to announce both their major project, Neo, and the PlayStation 4 Slim (which has been plagued by leaks).

The Apple event can be livestreamed here on September 7th at 10 a.m. PT.
