The Duke Nukem website now leads to a celebration countdown as of recently, prompting many to believe that the remake is on its way.
The site has a banner at the top that reads, “Happy 20th Anniversary,” under which is a countdown clock, counting down to Friday, September 2nd at 5PM PT.
Duke Nukem 3D was released in 1996, so while it doesn’t say “Duke Nukem 3D” anywhere, most are assuming that it is referring to that game.
A Reddit user also alleges that a leaker sent him screenshots of the game, and that it is a remaster/remix of the title being developed by Nerve Software called “Duke Nukem 3D: World Tour.”
The leaker told him:
These are official. This is a Duke 3D remaster. In many ways, you can look at this game as a Duke Nukem 3D remix as there will be a lot of new/original content added in as well. From my understanding, these screens are just a handful out of a bunch of press shots that will be coming out in the following days.
The leaker also said that there would probably be Coop and Deathmatch online modes, but isn’t sure.
The website is real, but the Reddit leak could be totally fake. Keep that in mind.
