The title lineup includes:

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III – Dawn of War III pits players against their foes when a catastrophic weapon is found on the mysterious world of Acheron. With war raging and the planet under siege by the armies of greedy Ork warlord Gorgutz, ambitious Eldar seer Macha, and mighty Space Marine commander Gabriel Angelos, supremacy must ultimately be suspended for survival.

Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice – Exclusive to Nintendo 3DS, this title features the cast of characters from the animated TV show Sonic Boom. The game infuses the characters with the elements of fire and ice, giving them new abilities to do battle against the evil Dr. Eggman and a new foe, D-Fekt. The game features both a single player experience as well as a two-player competitive mode. It will release on September 27th in the North America and September 30th in Europe.

Developer: Sanazru / Publisher: SEGA of America

Platform: Nintendo 3DS / Release Date: September 2016

Sonic Mania – Sonic Mania is a return to roots for Sega. This sees the return of Acts and Zones from the original games, while also boasting new zones altogether. The game features an 8-bit style and altogether is a fantastic dose of nostalgia, featuring three classic characters: Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.

Excitement is definitely ramping up as the new Sonic titles come. Sonic Mania is particularly something to be excited about for any players that prefer the classic Sonic style over the newer 3D games. Players got a dose of Sega’s ability to put out some good classic Sonic in Sonic Generations, so we can only hope that this game will feature the same level of precision that comes with modern gaming, while also featuring that sights, sounds and play style of the “good ol’ days”.

Fans of Sonic can also be excited about Project Sonic 2017, a project that not much is known about at the moment, but comes from the developers who made Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations. The debut trailer features a dystopian vibe as everyone’s favorite blue hedgehog runs his way into the fray of battle against giant robots, and as he is about to be taken out by a giant piece of concrete, classic Sonic bursts his way into frame, giving a solid thumbs up to his taller, leaner self. They then run alongside each other into danger as the screens blackens and text fades in to say: JOIN THE RESISTANCE.

While it doesn’t seem like there will be anything about Project Sonic 2017 at PAX West, this is definitely an exciting time for Sega fans and, in particular, Sonic fans. It seems like finally the character that once represented a gaming giant is getting the revival that he truly deserves.

Look out for Sega at PAX West on September 2nd through the 5th at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, Washington.
