Jared Leto, fresh off his polarizing portrayal as the Joker in DC’s Suicide Squad, is set to join animated fossil Harrison Ford and the ever perfect Ryan Gosling in the Blade Runner sequel.
Although very little is currently known about the extent of Leto’s role in the upcoming picture, Variety is reporting that the actor has signed the paperwork and is officially on board.
Continuing on the same thread, very little is known about the film too, including the central premise of the plot. Ford is set to reprise his role as replicant hunter / possible replicant, Rick Deckard and the action will take place decades after the events that happened in the original movie.
Oh, we also know that Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Arrival) is attached to direct and Robin Wright and Mackenzie Davis will also be on screen in some capacity. Probably as replicants, or cops, or characters crucial to the plot. My speculations as good as anyone’s right now.
Will it stand up to Ridley Scott’s 1982 dystopian classic? I highly doubt it, but I can’t wait to find out come its release on 6 October, 2017.
