125-Foot “Leap of Faith” Assassin’s stunt scares the pants off us

When I played Assassin’s Creed (about 30 Assassin’s Creed games ago), one of my favourite things to do was climb the tallest towers and happily fling myself off them into a suspiciously well-placed bale of hay. Apparently the producers of the new Assassin’s Creed movie enjoyed doing the same thing, if new footage is anything to go by.

Doing a “Leap of Faith” in Assassin’s Creed games were used to explore new territory. You’d climb up the tallest building in a new area and a (often gorgeous) cut-scene would show off the surrounding region.

In newly released behind-the-scenes footage from the set of Assassin’s Creed, you see Damien Walters, the stunt double for Michael Fassbender, perform a 125-feet “Leap of Faith”. This seems like business as usual for the high-flying stuntman who has also performed leaps from 70 and 90-foot platforms.

The footage and interviews on how this death-defying stunt was performed is available below!

I don’t know about you, but I hate getting up on a ladder, so maybe I’ll just keep performing my leaps in-game where I have a little more faith in my abilities.
