UPDATE: The letter has been sent worldwide, not just to Australian media. Original story below:
Sean Murray has sent out copies of No Man’s Sky to Australian reviewers, complete with an extremely personal letter from him.
The exact reason as to why he has done this is unclear, but he does write about being a child growing up in the Outback, wanting to escape to far off worlds as he read his science fiction.
The complete letter can be seen in this tweet below, sent out by Edmond Tran, a GameSpot editor and video producer:

Sean seems nervous, and rightfully so. The game built up such immense hype, that I am sure it is terrifying releasing it, not sure if it is what everyone expects.
He also writes about how he has seen plenty of people get lost in the game, in a good way; but; he has also seen people feel lost in the game. I’m sure now that the game is out there, his nervousness is at an all time high as he awaits the reviews which will come pouring out very soon.
No Man’s Sky is out for PS4, and will be released for PC on August 12th.
