A character from the Star Wars prequels is set to make a cameo in Rogue One, the first Star Wars standalone film.
Jimmy Smits, who played Bail Organa in the prequels appeared on the talk show The Talk, and when asked about the rumors as to whether he was to appear, he initially said, “no comment,” but then went on to say, “Can you say ‘cameo’? Can you say ‘small part’?”
This comes after viewers with a keen eye spotted what appeared to be him in one of the sizzle reels for the film.
If you don’t know who Bail Organa is because you have tried to wipe you brain of the prequels’ existences, he was the first chairman and viceroy of Alderaan, as well as the adopted father of our beloved Leia. He was killed when Darth Vader obliterated Alderaan with the Death Star, but Rogue One happens in the time between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.
Bail was definitely one of the better characters in the prequels, and it is in no way his fault that they sucked, so this is a cameo that I am happy to see.
