Niantic Labs, the creators of the cultural phenomenon Pokémon GO, have responded to massive criticism over recent updates to the game that have removed multiple features, saying:
The update hosted numerous changes, causes many players to demand refunds over their in-app purchases.
The tracking feature was perhaps the best part of Pokémon GO, as the gym-battling system leaves traditional Pokémon fans wanting more. It will be interesting to see how Niantic goes forward from this, as this could be make-or-break for the game’s continued popularity.
Perhaps the next move for the developer would be releasing a Legendary to garner more interest in the game, and cause players to temporarily forget that they are unhappy with the changes.
