We Happy Few brings the Joy to PC, Xbox One

If you’re fond of deliciously creepy dystopian experiences, you need to pay a visit to Wellington Wells. The 1960s British township is under the influence of a mysterious drug called Joy, which makes it the perfect setting for new first-person stealth survival adventure We Happy Few, which is out now via Early Access and Xbox Preview.

The game itself still doesn’t actually have a release date (beyond the obvious “When it’s done”), but you can snag a PC copy today via GOG.com or Steam, or if you’d prefer a console version, it’s also available on Xbox One.

Your character lives in Wellington Wells, but you suspect there’s more to life than simply taking Joy. This, of course, makes you a Downer – and Downers are not welcome. Your task is to survive – and eventually escape the township – without raising suspicion.

This Early Access / Xbox Preview release is just another step in the development process, the team at Compulsion Games is still working on expanding Wellington Wells and introducing new characters, as well as finalising the storyline (which won’t be revealed until the full release).

We Happy Few enjoyed one of the most shocking on-stage moments at E3 this year, and we chatted to the developers shortly after. For more about the game, tune in to Player Attack this Friday, July 29!
