We were thrilled to see CD Projekt RED reveal Gwent as a standalone card game – and now we’re even more delighted to learn the developer is teaming up with Dark Horse Comics to release a new art book based on the card game. The artwork featured on the in-game cards is stunning enough, but the book promises “hundreds of never-before-seen pieces”, the very idea of which sets our heart a-flutter.
As well as this new art book, Dark Horse is also planning an 8.5″ bust of Geralt, the series protagonist – just in case you can’t get enough of the handsome Witcher.
Both the art book and the bust are due in February 2017, and is not the first time CD Projekt RED and Dark Horse have collaborated. We’ve also seen books, comics, action figures and pins come out of this glorious union, including the 2015 release The World of The Witcher, a delicious hardcover book based on the franchise.
But of course you don’t have to wait until next year to actually play Gwent. The Witcher Card Game is due out in September, for Windows PC, PS4 and Xbox One. If you want to play even earlier than that, you should probably go register for the beta (and keep your fingers crossed!).
