Gamescom, the European equivalent of E3, is set to look a little different this year; with Microsoft forgoing their traditional media briefing and instead favoring an event specifically for Xbox fans.
The company announced that Xbox FanFest will take the place of its annual press conference, and will allow attendees to get hands-on time with some of the Xbox One’s bigger upcoming titles that were announced earlier this year. The event will run from August 18-24, alongside Gamescom, and touts a tantalizing lineup that includes Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, ReCore and Sea of Thieves.
This is by no means the first time the company has run the Xbox FanFest event, with lucky attendees present at this years E3 getting hands-on experience with the same titles.
Last year, Sony chose to forgo Gamescom in favor of PlayStation Paris Games Week, which allowed Microsoft to dominate the convention.
Sony has yet to announce its plans for Gamescom 2016.
