Coming courtesy of Microsoft and current developer Iron Galaxy Studios, the Definitive Edition will include all 26 rostered fighters from the game’s first three seasons, 20 stages, Killer Instinct Classic 1 & 2, the Killer Instinct original soundtrack and an exclusive Gold Gargos skin. The game will be made available physically and digitally, and will set you back $39.99 (USD).
In addition, Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition will also contain ‘special features’, such as character trailers, concept art and an in-game map that details stage locations.
Though the Definitive Edition contains all the currently available content, it appears Iron Galaxy has plans too release more. This assumption comes due to a recently released developer survey that asks fans what additional characters they would like to see added to the ever expanding roster. Possible future combatants include Perfect Dark’s Joanna Dark, a Halo Brute and a Crackdown agent.
In a peculiar move, Microsoft says that Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition will only release on Xbox One, even though the base game and all its additional content is currently available on the Windows 10 store.
