UPDATE: Sorry folks – if you missed this one, looks like the team’s taken down the archived video. One might resurface later, but for now, it will live on in our memories.
ORIGINAL POST: If you’re at all interested in game development, this is probably something you should watch. The Develop:Brighton 2016 kicks off with one of the most impressive keynote discussions we’ve ever seen: Game development icon Hideo Kojima, in conversation with PlayStation 4 architect Mark Cerny.
Obviously, we’d love to be in Brighton to watch this one in person, but failing that, we’re settling in with the livestream, which starts at 9:30am UK time, Wednesday July 13.
Because this is no ordinary presentation, it’s no ordinary livestream – it’s actually being presented in full 360 degrees, meaning you’ll be able to watch the audience just as easily as you can watch the pair on stage.
We’re not sure quite what these two veteran developers will discuss, but at the very least it’ll be a look back at Kojima’s history in the games industry, as well as – perhaps – a peer into the crystal ball of his future. We might even get a sneaky update on Death Stranding, the new PS4 exclusive Kojima revealed at E3 this year, but even if we don’t, it’s going to be a fun ride.
…and if that’s not enough for you, Kojima will also be named Development Legend during this year’s Develop Awards, in recognition of his creativity and years of service.
