Humble Friends of Nintendo Bundle now available to Australia

Nintendo and Humble Bundle have teamed up again for another charitable collection: the Humble Friends of Nintendo Bundle. In 2015, the two organisations came together for the Humble Nindie Bundle however the games were region-locked specifically to North America only. In 2016, this new Nintendo-indie themed collection is now also available to Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

The Humble Friends of Nintendo Bundle operates in three tiers, with the first two featuring specifically indie titles such as Retro City Rampage: DX for 3DS, Affordable Space Adventures for Wii U and Citizens of Earth for 3DS and Wii U. The third tier (pay US$13 or more) features two AAA titles: Super Street Fighter IV: 3D for 3DS and Darksiders II for Wii U. Below is a screenshot of the current bundle line-up and average price to beat for tier 2:

Last year’s bundle featured popular indie titles such as Guacamelée! Super Turbo Championship Edition, Steamworld Dig and OlliOlli. The bundle lasted for a period of two weeks from May-June and raised just over US$755,000 and was restricted strictly to North America due to licensing and distribution. The most recent bundle, the Humble Firaxis Bundle, made US$2,150,000 and also lasted two weeks but was redeemable worldwide. Currently, this more widely available Nintendo bundle has raised more than US$352,000 in six hours as of this writing.

As hinted at in the above screenshot more titles will be made available partway through the two week period to those paying above the average tier 2 price.

Two charities are part of this year’s bundle. Nintendo of America has affiliated with Code.org, an organisation that aims to deliver computer science education to children. Nintendo of Europe are working with SOS Children’s Villages International based in Austria, a non-government group who provide support families and communities for the welfare of children.

The Humble Friends of Nintendo Bundle is available now and all codes must redeemed via their respective platform’s eShop. The bundle will end on May 10.
