That E3 calendar is already starting to fill up, with Ubisoft the latest publisher to confirm what it’ll be getting up to in Los Angeles in June. As in previous years, there will be a press conference on the Monday before the expo, and (also as in previous years), we’re expecting plenty of new games, updates, big reveals and Aisha Tyler.
The promotional image gets more interesting the more you look at it. There’s Tyler’s name on the right under the “Devs at work” sign, and a reference to “My Fair Rabbid” (Bwaaah!). We’re not sure if the “Tower” theatre signage is reversed for a reason (we can’t find any confirmation of where this event will take place), but that “30” on the lightpole acknowledges that 2016 is Ubisoft’s 30th anniversary, so we’re expecting a bit of a retrospective celebration.
Things that are different this year: The time! The 2016 conference is set to kick off at 1pm LA time (What’s that in my timezone?), which is just a bit earlier than the 2:45 timeslot it occupied last year. Of course, the publisher is taking up the space left vacant when EA jumped to Sunday, and it’ll now follow directly on from Microsoft’s 9:30am slot. As usual, all the festivities will be livestreamed online, so you won’t miss out.
Of course we don’t know quite which games to expect – although there won’t be a new Assassin’s Creed released in 2016, so that’s one you can cross off the list. There should probably be more about the film tie-in though, so you won’t be completely without Assassin-y goodness.
Watch Dogs 2 and South Park: The Fractured But Whole should also make an appearance, plus Ghost Recon Wildlands, For Honor, and – if we’re very, very lucky – Beyond Good and Evil 2.
