Nintendo’s big reveal may have been scuttled by a pesky trademark registration, but that hasn’t dampened excitement for the next generation of pocket monsters. Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon were revealed Friday during a super-brief Nintendo Direct presentation, and they’re headed your way by the end of the year.
Details for the games will be revealed in the fullness of time, but at this stage we can confirm that if you played Pokémon Red, Blue or Yellow, you’ll be able to import your Pokémon into the new game via the Bank.
…happily, Sun and Moon are confirmed for an English release as well as the usual Japanese, but Nintendo surprised fans by revealing plans for French, German, Italian and Korean localisations, as well as both simplified and traditional Chinese.
2016 is the 20th Anniversary of the series, and Nintendo has been announcing all sorts of fun tidbits for fans – this is just the beginning.
