The unit is priced at $799 (USD) and is still expected to release “early April”, according to a press release from the mobile phone manufacturer.
The price not only includes the actual headset but also bundles two Vive touch controllers and the two wireless Lightroom sensor boxes:
Vive will be delivered as a complete kit allowing users to instantly jump into a fully immersive virtual environment using two wireless controllers, 360 degree tracking and room scale movement sensors
To sweeten the pot further, for a limited time, those that purchase the unit will also receive Job Simulator and Fantastic Contraption.
The Oculus, which has a price tag of $599 (USD), launches in March; with pre-orders selling in out in a matter of hours after the announcement. The Oculus comes as a base headset only though, with no bundled controllers or peripheries.
PlayStation is yet to announce a price or a more precise release window, with the company stating “this year.”
