Wargaming’s reboot of the Master of Orion franchise has revealed its cast of voice actors, which includes the talents of Mark Hamill, Alan Tudyk, Michael Dorn and Robert Englund . The majority of the line-up- with examples of their allotted races- was revealed today in a press release, and accompanied by the video below.
Mark Hamill, most noted for his role as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars saga as well as a litany of voiceover work including the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series, will voice the benevolent bird-like Alkari race. Alan Tudyk, who played Hoban “Wash” Washburne in Fox’s Firefly, as well as appearing in other Whedon cult hits, will provide the voice for the Psilon race. Michael Dorn, best known as Worf on Star Trek: The Next Generation, will be the game’s narrator. And Robert Englund, the true face of Freddy Kruger, will offer his talent to voice the militaristic refugee race of the Terran Khanate.
Oh, and Nolan North (Uncharted) and Troy Baker (The Last of Us) will be involved too because…do you even need a reason.
The Master of Orion franchise was purchased in 2013 by World of Tanks publisher Wargaming during the Atari bankruptcy auction. In June of last year the reboot, titled simply Master of Orion, was announced to be in development by Argentinian-based NGD Studios. Recently, those involved in the development were folded into WG Labs, an internal developer unit at Wargaming.
Master of Orion is slated for a February 26 release on Steam’s Early Access platform.
