Fallout 4’s got a new patch, fixes issues with quests and perks

Bethesda is rolling out a new patch for Fallout 4 this week.  The update is targeted at fixing the games plethora of bugs— both game breaking and wonderfully exploitative, the company announced today.

Fallout 4

On a quest to fix bugs

Patch 1.3 is now available for players exploring the Waste on Windows PC, and will be available to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players later this week.

Firstly, are you sitting? Let me break the bad news. So, your friend MacCready, the fellow who’s perk grants you explainable 95% VATS head-shot accuracy, well…not anymore. Mac’s perk has been fixed, so he’s back to just being a scruffy, short fused, Carpenter reference.

Now that the bad news is out of the way, on to the good stuff!

Update 1.3 delivers a few PC-only features, such as a new ambient occlusion setting known as HBAO+, and new weapon debris effects; but the bulk of the patch notes address bugs.

These bug fixes include such things as companions not getting stuck in a downed state, or suffering perpetual radiation poisoning. The fixes also extend further than companions, with Bethesda optimizing Workshop and settlement building issues.

The largest section of the patch notes is dedicated to quest fixes, with many targeting bugs that made quests impossible to finish. Such quests include “Underground Undercover,” “Human Error” and “Tactical Thinking.”

Bethesda also announced a that they will be returning to E3 this year, so hopefully we can expect some news on Fallout 4 DLC.
