Renowned heavy metal band Iron Maiden is endeavoring on a new venture, much like the flight of Icarus, and entering the free-to-play mobile space with Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast.
The mobile RPG, which is coming to Android and iOS this summer, will see players taking control the band’s iconic mascot, Eddie, in battles across space and time, according to an announcement.
The band’s upcoming game will be an “action-packed, free-to-play RPG steeped in Iron Maiden mythology,” a mythology steeped in 30 years of Iron Maiden’s album artwork and music, the announcement continued.
The band promises to release “previously unheard live recordings of Iron Maiden classics adapted for the game by engineer Tony Newton under the close scrutiny of bassist and founding member Steve Harris.”
Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast is being developed by Roadhouse Interactive, who also worked on Warhammer 40,000: Carnage, and 50cc Games.
