The next release in Scott Cawthon’s massively popular series Five Nights at Freddy’s is set to release February 19, the series creator has announced. Titled Five Nights at Freddy’s World, the next installment drastically deviates from the tried and true jump scare formula, instead embracing a colorful JRPG aesthetic and matching mechanics.
Players will “create a party using the huge selection of characters from the FNaF games, including the classic, withered, toy, phantom, and nightmare versions” Cawton said.
Cawthon said he’ll release the Android and iOS versions of Five Nights at Freddy’s World “in the following weeks” after the Steam release. A demo will also be available through GameJolt before release, Cawthon added.
Five Nights at Freddy’s World, according to Cawthon, will be the final entry in the franchise.
Last month, Cawthon released a novel, Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Silver Eyes, for ebook readers. And for those who really van’t get enough, Warner Bros. is developing a movie based on the property too.
