Dave Franco (Neighbors), Miles Teller (Whiplash) and Scott Eastwood (Gran Torino) are just a few of the bigger names that Disney and Lucasfilm are considering to play Han, according to a report out of Variety.
Other actors include Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars), Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction), Logan Lerman (The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Emory Cohen (Brooklyn) and Blake Jenner (Everybody Wants Some).
The film doesn’t begin shooting until next January, but sources say the reason for such an early decision has more to do with the other Star Wars film currently shooting, rather than the Han Solo spin off. Variety’s sources couldn’t officially confirm it but the new Solo may have a cameo in Rogue One: A Star Wars, which is set between Episode III and Episode IV.
Not much more is known about Han’s solo endeavor yet, other than it will focus on the smugglers antics before Episode IV and that the production is being helmed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, who are most notable for their work on The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street.
