It’s the most wonderful time of the year! New game network time! We’ve teamed up with South Australian ISP EscapeNet to give PC gamers a new home online. The new, Australian-based gaming network will be officially launched soon, but we’re booting the machines up before Christmas and inviting everyone in on the fun.
We’ve been working on this one for a while, following the recent closure of similar services, and we’re finally ready to show it off. EscapeNet will handle the hardware side of things, while the team at Player Attack is providing community support, admins, moderators and – of course – all the latest gaming news both online and on our TV series!
Stavros Patiniotis, Managing Director at EscapeNet is looking forward to the “rebirth of ISP-based gaming networks in Australia”:
Gaming is a big part of peoples online entertainment; in conjunction with Player Attack, we seek to deliver a high quality, low latency network for Aussie gamers.
We created Player Attack five years ago, building on experiences gained by working with ISP-based gaming networks, so this is sort of a return to our roots. It’s just another part of our the service we provide, combining great news, reviews and video content with our own locally optimised servers.
…in the meantime, if you’re in the market for a new ISP, EscapeNet is independently owned, based in South Australia, and delivers both ADSL/NBN broadband services and general telecommunications around the country. We strongly recommend them (and would even if we weren’t partners!).
Right now, we’ve got servers online for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Team Fortress 2 and The Mean Greens, with many more on the way. If there’s a game you’d like to see added, jump on the forums and let us know!
