The Game Awards are even closer than you realised, taking place in Los Angeles this Thursday night, December 3. And, just like in previous years, there’s a stack of amazing content planned for the evening. If 10 world premieres (count ’em!) isn’t enough for you, now Oculus is getting in on the action, promising a “special announcement” from company founder Palmer Luckey.
The big VR news comes via event host Geoff Keighley, who took to Twitter to build just a bit more hype.
We’re not sure what this “special announcement” will be just yet, but we’ve got our suspicions. It’d be a great time, location and mass audience for Oculus to announce a release date for the Rift headset, wouldn’t it?
The headset is expected to launch in the first few months of next year, with pre-orders opening before Christmas (which, whoa, is getting awfully close).
It would make sense for Oculus to tell us more – specs, availability, date and (of course!) the price!
