Oh, I wish we could hold this story over until tomorrow, but… on Thursday the 12th, we are happy to confirm that Friday the 13th: The Game has been fully funded, meaning we can all breathe a heavy sigh of relief… and start looking over our collective shoulders.
With less than 60 hours to go, the game’s Kickstarter has raised $722,000 at time of writing. That means it’s reached its $700,000 goal, so the game will be made, we’ll be given an extra look behind the scenes at Tom Savini’s workshop, and the (in)famous Sleeping Bag Kill has been added. The $720k stretch goal has also been reached, with a new environmental kill added – Jason gets 7 years brutal bad luck with Mirror Smash. (The $750k goal is a “glorious 3D headcrush”, if you were curious.)
The studio has made a backer-only update thanking everyone for their support – if you can’t read it, perhaps you should chuck a few dollars towards the campaign?
There’s still time to support the project: Friday the 13th: The Game is set for release in mid-2016, for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
