If you’re not going anywhere exciting this weekend, let us fix that. EA has just launched a new interactive website for Star Wars Battlefront (aren’t all websites interactive?), which lets you travel to each of the game’s four featured planets and have a bit of a look around.
Here’s a teaser, but you’re gonna want to hit up the website for the full experience:
The Star Wars Battlefront Planets Experience invites you on a guided tour through Endor, Hoth, Tatooine and Sullust – but not Jakku, the planet featured in The Force Awakens (you’ll be able to play that one when it’s released as free DLC from December 8 (December 1 for preorder customers) – we’re not sure if it’ll be added to the site, too). Also – obviously – you won’t be shown planets that aren’t in the game at launch, but that doesn’t mean the Star Wars Battlefront galaxy ends with these five. Peter Moore from EA has suggested that “new universes” will be added to the game as post-launch DLC.
At its heart, it’s a glorified video, which will occasionally pause to let you learn more about what you’re watching. A behind the scenes look at how DICE made a map? A video of the view from the Millennium Falcon? A description of some of the equipment you’ll be able to play with when the game launches real soon now? It’s at your fingertips, with some impressively epic background music.
Star Wars Battlefront, in the works at DICE, will be released from November 17 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
