While they’re not yet telling us just which Xbox 360 games will make it to Xbox One, Microsoft has let us know when we’ll find out. A massive 100 games have been confirmed for the initial list, made up of both Microsoft first-party games as well as selected third-party offerings.
The big ol’ list of older games hopping onto the new platform will be revealed on November 9, so you’ve just got a few days to wait.
If, after the list is made public, your favourite title isn’t included, there’s still hope. This is just the first batch of games, with more on the way. To get your choices on the next list, Microsoft suggests you get in touch with your preferred publisher to hassle them about backwards compatibility.
If you’ve already got an Xbox One and you’re looking forward to playing some older games again – you’re actually not Microsoft’s primary target this time around. Aaron Greenberg is quoted as saying there are “tens of millions” of gamers clinging to their Xbox 360 consoles and refusing to update – he predicts the backwards compatibility will be enough to make at least some of them make the jump.
