Allison Road Kickstarter cancelled following publisher deal

Earlier this year, we told you about Allison Road, a next-gen indie survival horror game in the vein of now-deleted P.T. Now, we have some very good news for fans of the genre: While developer Lilith was happy to take the game to Kickstarter and pay its own way, the game’s now been picked up by a publisher, with UK industry veteran Team17 taking on publishing duties.

The indie developer is thrilled with the deal – and rightly so. Allison Road has racked up more than 1.9 million views of its prototype gameplay video (shown above), and was well on track to achieve its funding goal by its end of October deadline. Now though, the developers are free to focus 100% on the game, with all the resources, experience and support that comes with a publisher.

While it might seem a bit of a leap from Team17‘s previous games (this is the studio that brought us Worms!) CEO Debbie Bestwick explains that it’s actually a natural fit:

Allison Road is exactly the kind of game we are looking for to expand our label’s portfolio, the game is absolutely stunning and I look forward to helping Chris and his team on their journey. Our label was created by games developers for games developers and has been built in such a way to allow games makers of all sizes to focus 100% on the most important aspect ‘The Game’.

There’s still no date or more details available for Allison Road, but we’re promised more information in “early 2016”.
