Each week, gamers around the world log onto digital distribution platform Steam, to get their latest gaming fix, and every week, Player Attack lets you know which games were the most popular.
Normally, when someone makes a sequel for a game, the title ends up something like “Game Title 2”. It might be “Game Ti2le” if someone’s being clever, but the general trend is that the new game is named something very similar to the old game.
…so when we discovered the name for the sequel to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, we were a little surprised. I mean, seriously. Rocket League? Sure, it might be a good name, but where’s the 2? Where’s the reference to the original game? How will people know what they’re playing?
Turns out, it doesn’t matter. Rocket League has happily conquered the charts this week, regardless of whether people know it’s a sequel or not. It’s even knocked those dinosaurs from the top spot, which is no mean feat. Let’s see if this unique soccer / driving / physics blend can keep it in the charts!
