World of Warships sails into open beta

Wargaming has also set its sights on the open water, taking World of Warships into Open Beta after a super-successful Closed Beta test that saw more than 410,000 prospective captains taking part.

Jake Neri, Publishing Producer at Wargaming‘s North American studios, explains:

World of Warships’ Closed Beta was strong out of the gate and showed no signs of slowing as players and streamers embraced the game, then took to the high seas for legendary naval combat. Participation was solid and a community of passionate, dedicated players was born to help shape the game with their feedback. We can only match that by working on the game with just as much passion. Building on all of this enthusiasm we look forward to welcoming even more players into the Open Beta test for a game we are so proud of.

Available right now, the Open Beta for World of Warships will feature 10 original maps and more than 80 seafaring vessels spanning both America and Japan. Pick a battleship, destroyer, aircraft carrier or a cruiser and jump into 12v12 matches – either in PvP combat or PvE mode – as you take the helm and sink the competition.

But wait! There’s more! Wargaming is also unleashing both Soviet and UK fleets onto World of Warships, as well as introducing a robust signal flag customisation system, so you can make changes that are not only cosmetic but also functional. Your flags can signal your prowess on the water, but also add buffs or specific advantages, offering extra credits or experience points, or even making your warship faster.

All purchased pre-order packages are currently being credited to World of Warships players. If you took part in the Closed Beta and redeemed your bundle during a previous testing phase… good news! You’ll be credited them once again.
