He might be good at characterisations, but Nolan North is apparently not so good at keeping secrets. It seems the prolific voice actor has let the cat out of the bag, telling an audience that a sequel is already in the works for The Last of Us.
Attending a Q&A panel at Florida’s MetroCon, North was asked – inevitably – about The Last of Us, where he plays David, and he replied simply:
I know they’re doing a Last of Us 2.
The Last of Us was released in 2013 exclusively for PS3, and took the world by storm. The game sold more than 3.4 million units in its first three weeks on sale, topping charts across the globe. A year later, a PS4 version was released, The Last of Us Remastered, to pretty much the same level of success.
Realistically, a sequel is anything but a surprise – and it’s not something we needed North to confirm – but we’re guessing someone’s mighty unhappy with the man. Predictably, developer Naughty Dog and Sony are yet to comment on the topic.
