Fans of Fallout will tell you that the coolest bit of technology is, of course, the PipBoy. Happily, Bethesda understands this completely, and has built a real-world edition that will hit the market alongside Fallout 4 when it launches November 10, 2015.
Sure, it won’t be with every copy of the game, but if you pre-order the Fallout 4 Special Edition, you’ll get your very own device. You can slot your smartphone into the PipBoy and run a custom-built app – it’s a second-screen experience for Fallout 4 that will let you check things right on your wrist. (Of course, if you don’t have a PipBoy, you can still use your phone to do all this cool stuff.)
And while the real-world edition is obviously super-cool, your in-game PipBoy has been updated too, it’s now more fun to use – you can use holotapes which may contain information, may contain music, or may contain video games (we liked Red Menace, which looks like Donkey Kong).
More to come on where you can find your own PipBoy – as we stay tuned to Bethesda at E3!
