Fortnite is currently in closed alpha testing by Epic friends and family, but the studio’s started showing off a few of the more significant changes, with a handful of previews popping up online today. It seems that everyone who plays the game so far has been impressed with the procedurally-generated environments and the gameplay that evolves because of it – even those who don’t consider themselves fans of crafting or tower defence.
There’s also one really interesting detail Epic‘s just revealed: Fortnite will be fully playable on Mac as well as Windows PC, using Apple‘s updated Metal API. The team was even invited on stage at this year’s Apple WWDC – if you want to see them in action, check out this archived stream!
While we’re still no closer to finding out when the free-to-play Fortnite will finally be available, a closed beta for the Apple version will be held later this year, and we’re assuming the Windows PC build will be included alongside that at the same time.
