Indie developer 2Awesome Studio has bounced back from its Kickstarter drama in fine form. The second crowdfunding campaign for Dimension Drive has already reached its €30,000, with nearly two weeks left to go.
The team’s first crowdfunding effort ended in tragedy, as Kickstarter reversed a generous €7,000 pledge after discovering it had been made with a stolen credit card. While this would have been painful at any point in the campaign, for 2Awesome Studio it was a killing blow, the developers receiving the news with less than 30 minutes left on the campaign countdown.
However, the team stood up, dusted itself off, and tried again – and this time, it looks like the campaign’s been more than successful.
The Dimension Drive team is happy to announce that we have reached our funding goal. We could not have done this without your help and never will thank you enough for all your support!
And don’t think that you can’t contribute just because the project is funded. The Dimension Drive Kickstarter campaign is still running for a further 12 days, and your pledge could make a big difference!
As a response to the amount of positive feedback Dimension Drive has received, 2Awesome Studio has announced a number of stretch goals. The first two have already been unlocked – non-stop Boss Mode action and an infinite procedurally-generated Horde Mode – but if you want two-player mode (local, co-op PvP), the team still needs just a little more cash.
If you like the idea of a new type of shoot ’em up (Dimension Drive is a “Dual-Battlefield vertical Shoot’Em Up with a focus on smart, quick teleporting”), or want a rich sci-fi adventure that takes on two wars at once in a gorgeous comic-book style, you should probably get over and show your support – you can get a copy of the game for as little as €12.
