It’s almost become a joke, these days – is anyone really making new games for new platforms, or are they all just rehashing old ones? The latest to jump on the “remastered” bandwagon? Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection – a bundle of the first three Uncharted games polished up for PS4.
According to Naughty Dog‘s Arne Meyer, this is something fans have been requesting for years:
What better way to get prepared for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End than to revisit – or play for the first time – the first three games that launched the fortune-hunting icon that is Nathan Drake?
We’re promised better lighting, textures and models, as well as “a range of improvements and additions” for Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, bringing each game up to 1080p and 60fps. Curiously, the studios are only talking about the single-player modes at this point.
We put together the list of these improvements and additions based on countless forum posts, messages, Tweets, and even through personal conversations we’ve had with a number of you over the years. More on these specifics in future updates.
There’s a sting in the tail of this one, too: Even if you think you’ve played enough Uncharted, but you’d really like to play Uncharted 4 as soon as possible, you might still have to consider getting the Nathan Drake Collection. You see, the folks at Naughty Dog have tucked a nifty little beta key inside as well, which will grant you exclusive access to the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta before other gamers.
