Gaming documentaries are always great viewing, whether it’s a fly-on-the-wall insight or a detailed look at how something – or someone – works. If you’re in the market for a new one, take a look at Gaming in Color, which explores the culture of gaming as it relates to the LGBTQ+ community. It’s out right now!
Put together by MidBoss Games, organisers of the GaymerX LGBTQ+ friendly gaming and culture events, Gaming in Color focusses on “the issue of representation in the world of gaming but also on why such representation matters and what effect it has on gamers from all walks of life.” The project was successfully funded via Kickstarter two years ago, and is finally ready to be shared with the world.
It was put together in the time period between the first and second GaymerX events, and is out now via iTunes, Amazon, google Play, PlayStation, Xbox, Vudu, VHS, Gumroad and Vimeo, distributed by Devolver Digital Films. (We’re promised that Steam distribution is also in the works!)
If you like what you see and want to get involved – even as a visitor – the next GaymerX event, GX3: Everyone Games, is hitting the San Jose Marriott in California from December 11-13, 2015. We’re also hearing hints that the event will be coming to Australia, with suggestions that Sydney is in the spotlight. We’ll keep you posted!
